About DCSA
The DCSA’s aim is to help support students through their time here and to encourange and arrange non-academic pursuits for College members.
Most of the College actvities, facilities and cooperation with other colleges are organised and maintained by the DCSA. We fund the societies and sports clubs already in existence, and encourage you to set up new ones. Darwin has five punts, two 1-person kayaks and one 2-person kayak, which Darwin members can use by joining the punt club (done through the Porters’ Lodge). We manage the TV Room, the Reading Room and the equipment in the Common Room, and we try to put on a range of events appealing to a variety of students.
The DCSA also represents your views and concerns to College Authorities, made up of the Governing Body, Committies and College Council, and we are active in the University-wide student bodies, the Graduate Union (GU) and Cambridge University Students’ Union (CUSU). We have regular meetings to ensure the smooth running of activites.
The DCSA welfare network is there for concerns that students have pertaining to welbeing (including those about mental health, sexual health, disability, harrassment, keeping safe and childcare), and to issues related to sexuality, to gender and to international students.
